Miss Klima received her BFA with Honors in Fine Art Media from Art Center College of Design in Pasadena on or around December 2006.
Her most recent hobbies include: crowned Queen of the 2009 Pasadena Doo Dah Parade, Craft Club, money laundering, ping pong tournaments, making books combining photography & text, meeting new, fabulous people, collecting knick-knacks, listening to vinyl records, wine tasting (especially at Rosenthal, a local tasting room in Malibu), hiking in & around Los Angeles and tap dancing.
In her “spare time” (there’s not much of it!), she volunteers as a photography mentor for an international kids’ art program called Room 13, which, in the United States, is run by a non-profit art organization called the Light Bringer Project. We’ve since started a photo business for the kids to fund Room 13 themselves called Pix By Tweens. Check out their website: www.pixbytweens.com
From 2006 until the present, she’s displayed her work in 11 group gallery shows, including 3 shows she curated, & 1 solo show.
She enjoys taking portraits of people of all sizes, colors, shapes and especially all kinds of crazy. Colors are her game - bright and as obnoxious (in a good way) as possible. Her motto is best described in the title of the article about the Doo Dah Parade in the 2010 Rose Parade magazine--- "Mix & Don't Match".
Besides working on various independent projects, Miss Klima frequently works as a lead photographer for a fabulous event photo booth company called Oh Snap! Studios, a photo assistant & retoucher for a major toy company MGA Entertainment and on top (of that) her photos grace the cover of Pasadena Weekly every few months.
Usually when stuck in traffic, you can see her hanging out the window documenting Los Angeles with one of her cameras. Miss Klima is a traditional and non-traditional photographer, which means as a lover of the photographic medium she uses all shapes & forms from 4"x5" to medium format to digital to polaroid and back again!
Thank you for your time.  She welcomes comments, commissions, funding of art projects, constructive criticism, and the like--- studio@julieklima.com.mailto:studio@julieklima.com?subject=Radical
